Ectoin® is a well-studied stress-protection molecule used in skincare. S.H.I.E.L.D. includes Ectoin® at 1%, the concentration supported by our supplier efficacy data, so Ectoin® can play a meaningful role in the formulation rather than simply appear on the ingredient list.
Will S.H.I.E.L.D. clog pores or cause breakouts?
S.H.I.E.L.D. is formulated as a lightweight, non-greasy gel-cream and includes ingredients such as niacinamide and Zinc PCA, commonly used in routines for blemish-prone skin. Individual responses can vary, so patch testing S.H.I.E.L.D. before first use is recommended.
Can I use S.H.I.E.L.D. on both my face and body?
Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. is designed for use wherever skin needs hydration, comfort and barrier support.
Can I use S.H.I.E.L.D. with retinol, vitamin C or exfoliating acids?
Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. does not contain retinoids or exfoliating acids and can be incorporated into routines containing vitamin C, retinoids or exfoliating acids.

Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. provides hydration and barrier support in a lightweight gel-cream texture designed to absorb comfortably without a heavy, greasy finish. S.H.I.E.L.D. can be used by dry, normal, combination and oily skin types.
Can I use S.H.I.E.L.D. if I have eczema?
Eczema-prone skin can be highly individual. S.H.I.E.L.D. contains barrier-supporting lipids, humectants and soothing ingredients, but S.H.I.E.L.D. also contains fragrance and is not intended to treat eczema. If you have active eczema, frequent flare-ups or highly reactive skin, consult your dermatologist before using S.H.I.E.L.D.
Is S.H.I.E.L.D. suitable for acne-prone skin?
Acne-prone skin can still benefit from hydration and barrier support. S.H.I.E.L.D. delivers both in a lightweight gel-cream texture and includes niacinamide and Zinc PCA. Because acne-prone skin varies from person to person, patch testing S.H.I.E.L.D. is recommended when introducing S.H.I.E.L.D. into your routine.
Why does S.H.I.E.L.D. contain fragrance?
S.H.I.E.L.D. contains a low level of IFRA-compliant fragrance to make the application experience more enjoyable without overpowering the formulation.
How often should I use S.H.I.E.L.D.?
