Why is Ectoin® included at 1%?
Ectoin® is one of the most extensively studied stress-protection molecules used in skincare. We included it at 1% because that's the concentration supported by supplier efficacy testing and because we wanted it to be a meaningful part of the formula, not a marketing footnote.
Will it clog pores or cause breakouts?
S.H.I.E.L.D. is designed to be lightweight and non-greasy, using ingredients with a low tendency to clog pores. We also included niacinamide and zinc PCA, which are used for blemish-prone skin.
That said, everyone's skin is different, so a patch test is always recommended.
Can I use it on both my face and body?
Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. can be used on Face and Body both safely.
Can I use it with retinol, vitamin C, or exfoliating acids?
Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. has no harsh exfoliants or retinoids, so it layers beautifully.

Is S.H.I.E.L.D. suitable for oily skin?
Yes. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. provides substantial barrier and hydration support, its gel-cream texture was designed to feel lightweight, absorb quickly and avoid a greasy finish. It is suitable for dry, normal, combination and oily skin types.
Can I use S.H.I.E.L.D. if I have eczema?
For mild, fragrance-tolerant eczema, possibly. S.H.I.E.L.D. contains barrier-supporting lipids, soothing actives and hydration-supporting ingredients that may help improve skin comfort. However, it does contain fragrance. If you have severe eczema, active flares or highly reactive skin, we recommend consulting your dermatologist before use.
Is S.H.I.E.L.D. suitable for acne-prone skin?
Yes. Acne-prone skin still needs hydration and barrier support. S.H.I.E.L.D. delivers both in a lightweight gel-cream texture, alongside niacinamide and zinc PCA, without relying on heavy occlusives. As with any skincare product, individual responses may vary, so patch testing is recommended.
Why does S.H.I.E.L.D. contain fragrance?
We use a low level of IFRA-compliant fragrance to improve the sensory experience.
How often should I use it?
Apply morning and evening after cleansing and serums, or whenever your skin needs additional hydration and barrier support.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. S.H.I.E.L.D. contains no animal-derived ingredients and is not tested on animals.
How long does an opened bottle last?
12 months after opening. Store in a cool, dry place and avoid introducing water or contaminants into the product.
